The construction phase of Avalon Apartments is now officially underway, this month saw the team from Black Interiors taking possession of the site and organising the trade teams.
The first step has been to procure materials with long-lead time. As you have no doubt seen on the news, NZ is experiencing unprecedented material supply chain shortages and delivery issues throughout the construction industry, so this is a key risk that we are managing to ensure the project is not further delayed. Your nominated colour and material choices for kitchen and bathrooms have now been ordered.
The fit-out project will start from the top floor and work it's way down. At the same time, strengthening works will be starting on the ground floor and working up. There is a lot of work to be completed at the front end of the construction phase and the management teams will be working hard on this throughout June to ensure all programme delivery requirements are met.
Key focus area will be completing the final demolition works on the ground floor to enable a new 150mm concrete slab install to strengthen the ground floor.
